RISE into Tech Careers
May 13 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

All too often, Black and Brown entrepreneurs and young adults don’t see tech as a pathway to prosperity, success or wealth.
Comcast, together with their partners Hopeworks and small businesses supported by the Comcast RISE Program (comcastrise.com), are making dramatic investments to change that narrative.
Come learn about how Comcast leveraged its philanthropic investments in Hopeworks and RISE Recipients to create a virtuous cycle of amplifying returns. Through the Comcast RISE Program, Comcast not only made a strategic investment in Rise Recipients and other People of Color and Women Owned companies. Comcast then hired the young adults of Hopeworks to produce the Comcast RISE Map, an interactive digital map showcasing the investments that Comcast has made across the county.
This unique combination of direct investment in People of Color and Women-Owned businesses, sourcing using social impact vendors, and thoughtful deliberate work to generate access and opportunities for underrepresented founders and groups has the potential to change the narrative of who builds and keeps wealth in our country.
Come learn about this great project in Hopeworks’ new Kensington home and then join the Kensington Derby Arts Festival just blocks away!
